Public Health Preparedness and IT: Lessons from the Field

This Policy Dialogue, sponsored by the Expert Panel on Informatics and Technology, with additional expertise provided by the Expert Panels on Environmental and Public Health; Cultural Competence and Health Equity; and Building Health Care Systems Excellence, will address global infectious disease challenges (such as COVID), share best practices, and recommend public health and IT infrastructure changes. It will explore the contributions of nursing to public health infrastructure, patient outcomes, health information technology (IT), and responsiveness to global infectious disease challenges in terms of future policy implications.
Purpose Statement
This event will provide participants the opportunity to gain insights about public health preparedness and information technology infrastructure from experts. Participants will explore educational, practice, research, and policy implications for the nursing profession.
Learning Outcome
As a result of participating in this event, attendees will be able describe at least two policy implications related to public health preparedness and technology infrastructure.
